dress shoes for men:Most Anticipated Running Shoes of Winter 2017

The fourth quarter of the year (Q4) is generally an uneventful time for shoe releases, as most brands are preparing for the massive series of new shoes that will arrive after the New Year. But 2017 appears to be a bit of an exception to this rule, as we have five Q4 models that we expect to be very popular in the coming months.

1. Brooks Levitate

Featuring Brooks’ brand new midsole compound, DNA AMP, and a sleek knit upper, the Levitate is Brooks’ take on the high energy return daily trainer. Initial reviews have been positive, and we think that the Levitate is poised to make its mark as a responsive and versatile training option.

2. Saucony Liberty ISO

The Saucony Freedom ISO blew up in 2017, so we expect the Liberty ISO — which follows the same design as the Freedom ISO with added stability features for overpronation — to do the same. Underfoot spring abounds in the full-length EVERUN midsole, and flex grooves on the outsole should give the Liberty ample underfoot mobility without compromising the stability of the TPU guidance frame. Saucony rounds out the package with a lightweight, comfort-oriented ISOFIT upper for what we think will be a real winner.

3. Mizuno Wave Rider 21

After a tepid response to the Wave Rider 18 and 19, the Wave Rider 20 reestablished the model as one of Mizuno’s best selling shoes, and we expect that the upcoming Wave Rider 21 will continue that trend. It features the same midsole and outsole as the previous version, so the ride should remain consistent, while the addition of a remolded upper and sockliner should improve the fit and comfort.

4. Saucony Triumph ISO 4

As the first daily trainer to feature a full-length EVERUN midsole, we expect the Triumph ISO 4 to deliver the highly cushioned ride that runners have come to expect from the model, with an even livelier and more flexible ride. In addition to the added spring, the upper has received several small modifications that should improve the fit of the shoe as well.

5. ON Cloud X

Designed as a performance version of The Cloud, On’s top selling shoe, the Cloud X is made for runners who want the unique ride of The Cloud in a lighter-weight, performance package. Improved forward spring comes from an updated speedboard, and the engineered mesh upper should deliver breathability and support in all the right places. The heel counter even includes memory foam for a snug hold that doesn’t sacrifice comfort.
