mens white shoes:New Balance Hierro v3 | First Look

After reviews of the original New Balance Hierro labeled the shoe a “Boracay with lugs,” designers gave the Hierro v2 a completely revamped design to improve cushioning, protection, and traction. As we look to the New Balance Hierro v3, we see another massive update to the model that should deliver increased comfort and protection.

One of the most notable changes is the redesign of the Fresh Foam midsole. While the Hierro v2 had a 4 mm heal-toe offset, 26 mm of material under the heel, and 22 mm of material under the forefoot, the Hierro v3 has an 8 mm heel-toe offset, 30 mm of material under the heel, and a similar 22 mm of material under the forefoot. As such, the heel has considerably more cushioning than the previous model, but the forefoot should offer a similar level of protection. Minor changes to the geometry of the foam should also produce a smoother ride. Additionally, while it has been reconfigured to increase traction, the outsole is still composed of Vibram rubber.

Another major update to the shoe is the upper. In order to provide protection while maintaining breathability, the majority of the upper is composed of the new laser-perforated Hyposkin material, which creates a seamless wrap that delivers a natural hold on the foot. The Hierro v3 is also redesigned with an ankle collar to keep out debris. One of the few features that remains from the previous version is the Toe Protect layer at the front of the shoe.

As a result of the redesign, the Hierro v3 has put on some weight, with the men’s sample weighing in 1.1 ounces heavier than the production model of the Hierro v2 and the women’s sample weighing in 1.2 ounces heavier.
